Breakwater Build Footer Pour: Building a New Home on a Foundation of Faith.

The Breakwater Build has officially reached another major milestone.

After completing the demolition of the previous home and preparing the property for new construction, the Talica Design | Build team has now excavated the footers for the new residence. Today, concrete is being poured to create the structural foundation that will support the home for years to come.
What Is a Concrete Footer?
Concrete footers are one of the most important parts of any new construction project. They are placed below the foundation walls and help distribute the weight of the home evenly across the soil.
Before the concrete can be poured, the footer areas must be carefully measured, excavated, formed, and inspected. Once everything is properly prepared, the concrete is placed and allowed to cure, creating a solid base for the next stages of construction.

Although the footers will eventually be hidden beneath the finished home, they play a critical role in the strength, stability, and longevity of the entire structure.
Placing a Bible in the Foundation
During today’s footer pour, a Bible was placed into the concrete foundation of the Breakwater Build.
For many homeowners and builders, placing a Bible or Scripture within the foundation is a meaningful tradition that symbolizes building the home on faith, strength, and God’s guidance.
The practice is often connected to the biblical message found in Matthew 7:24–25, which describes a wise person building a house upon a rock so that it remains strong when storms come.

Placing a Bible in the footer serves as a lasting blessing over the home and the family who will live there. It represents the hope that the home will be built on a strong spiritual foundation, not only with quality materials and craftsmanship, but also with faith, love, protection, and purpose.
Long after the construction is complete, the Bible will remain permanently within the foundation as a meaningful part of the home’s story.
The Breakwater Build Continues
With the footers poured, the Breakwater Build is moving closer to the next phase of construction. Every step, from demolition and excavation to concrete placement—is carefully coordinated to ensure the home is built correctly from the ground up.

We will continue documenting the progress as the foundation takes shape and this brand-new custom home begins to rise.
Stay tuned for more updates from the Breakwater Build.
